William Ford-Sussman, born and raised in the river village of Dobbs Ferry, attended local schools throughout his primary education and attended Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree at the City University of New York Law School in 1988. Starting in 1983 William began working for Mr. John P. Streb, owner of Streb & Son Real Estate Company, a highly regarded realty business operating since 1944 in Dobbs Ferry. He maintained this association when the Coldwell Banker Company acquired Streb & Son in 1997. Three years later Coldwell Banker also acquired Ye Village Realty, another long-standing real estate firm dealing mainly with exclusive type luxury homes.
William successfully worked throughout these corporate changes becoming the leading real estate associate in this company for four out of the past five years. He is recognized as one of the top individuals in his market area. This area includes the villages of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.
In 2008 William Ford-Sussman was ranked #1 in sales of Coldwell Banker realtors for Westchester County. Furthermore, for the past 8 years he has been the lead agent in his home branch office. Nationwide he consistently ranks in the top two percentile of Coldwell Banker’s 120,000 sales associates. Yearly, since 2001 he has been awarded Presidents Elite Designation, a ranking of top 2%. In 2004 he was awarded Presidents Premiere Designation, a ranking top 1%. He is listed in the Westchester County Board of Realtors as a Diamond Agent for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
William and his family happily reside in Dobbs Ferry and have been actively involved in the community. Formerly William served as President of the Dobbs Ferry Arts Council; co-founder of the Dobbs Ferry Summer Theater and member of the Dobbs Ferry Youth Council. His wife, Mary Ford, was a principal dancer with the internationally acclaimed Jose Limon Dance Company for over eight years, until giving birth to the couples first child, daughter Aleah Rose in 2004.
Together Mary and William formed the Price Performing Arts Company. Between the years 1996 and 2001 they produced four performing arts shows at the Claudia Boecher Theater on the Masters School campus, and the Tarrytown Music Hall. These were a celebration of community through artistry, an ongoing goal of the Ford-Sussmans.
More recently the Ford-Sussmans in collaboration with Creative Connections sponsored two international youth performing groups: Rossijancchka Folk Dancers from St. Petersburg, Russia, and La Banda Juvenil de Medellin from Columbia, South America. These two groups gave public performances at the local schools for the community.
